Donahue tells about his first meeting with one of Canadian Mountain Holidays founders Hans Gmoser, and how that planted the seed for this compelling book. We also hear about some of the research Donahue undertook, and what that taught him about the use of helicopters in mountaineering. Bear Guardians

Program: Miscellaneous

Banff's National Park's Bear Guardians reach park visitors 'where they are', with relevant, engaging messages and activities. The goals of the program are to patrol the secondary roadways in Banff National Park looking for potential or existing bear jams and deal with them as per warden protocols; to reduce habituation of bears; and to increase park visitors' knowledge of Banff's bears through informal roadside presentations and educational displays at day-use areas and at bear jams.
