On Tape, Willock and Sax Gallery with Helen Mackie and John Chalke

Program: On Tape

In celebration of national Culture Days and the Alberta Art Days, the Willock and Sax Gallery hosted an artists' panel with Royal Canadian Academy members Helen Mackie and John Chalke. Park Radio's Camara Miller was hosting the interview about the works and lives of these artists.
Helen Mackie has a background in biological sciences and has had a life-long fascination with prairie culture and the natural world. She uses woodblock print making to convey a world of surprise, whimsy and joy.
John Chalke is one of Canada's best known and celebrated ceramists, whose contributions to fien craft are wide ranging. While he has taught part-time at art schools and universities throughout his career, the main focus of his energy has always been his studio.
